dixieflyer Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Good People, I was a pretty avid IL-2/IL-1946 flyer from about 2000 up until 2006 or so, then laid it down for various and sundry reasons. I finally got a new PC, reloaded the sim, drug out my old Saitek X52 set up, and went to mapping keys. I'm having a heck of a time sadly. I know, I just know that I had my zoom-in/zoom out view mapped to one of the rotary buttons on the throttle, and my flaps mapped to the slider on top, but I'll be darned if I can get it mapped to that now. Sure, I can map it to a key combo on the keyboard, and that's how I have it now, but I really would like to have the zoom-in/zoom-out on one of those rotary switches, and the flaps on the slider. What am I doing wrong? Warren
Sokol1 Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Not sure about zoom, but flaps can't be mapped in analog axis (rotaries, sliders), only in keys or buttons, and specific planes has specific flaps operation - can be ON-OFF, 3/4 positions, incremental... depends on plane.
dixieflyer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Thanks Sokol1, I figured there might be a difference between the ancient sim and the current iteration. Thanks! Warren
