Hi guys, I am looking faor a German KG13 grip replica to use with my DIY gimball joystick. I have heard some forum user who built it, but none of them, at the moment, are not producing it anymore.

Could you suggest me where could I can purchase it, please?

Many thanks! Ciao!

Cheeb2006 said me he doesn't make no more. His grip is no more available for purchasing... Pity.... It was super!

Baur too not produce it no more.

My hope is Replika Gear.... ?

Log in il2sturmovik.ru (same password from il2sturmovik.com) and in "Fea Market" post that you want a KG 12/13-B, eventually someone sell there, I have see even real KG's or P1-M (Russian copy of KG-12/12-B) on sales there in the past.

Until Replika set their production, an reasonable workaround is VKB KG 12-B - that is not "replica", but "look alike", remove VKB electronic circuit and twist MARS sensor, wire the 3 buttons and POV HAT (or replace this by a button) as matrix in your USB controller.

BTW - Is probable that some guys in this forum has one VKB KG 12-B in the drawer, replaced by MCG or SCG grips.

Years ago are an guy in Germany(?) making cast copies in aluminum.

Or make one these functional, trigger and buttons are movable:

3D files for 3D printer.

Hi Sokol, thanks for reply! I will try to ask on IL-2.ru as per your suggestion. I would like to get a plastic copy of the grip to adapt it to my new gimball joystick.

Aluminium german copy is very cool but too expensive also....

As you said, VKB is a "look alike" copy....sincerely I am looking for a more closest copy.

I have Grabcad 3d file but it haven't knurling on the grip. I tried to ask to the designer the original solidworks file for trying to add knurling, but him told me he aven't no more the solidworks file. His has only stp and iges files of the grip.

Another Grabcad user is working on the part with the knurking only and he give me the file for 3d printer. I will try to print it for check the knurling appearence.

Having a 3d printer I would also need the files for the various components of the handle and then print them myself, paying what is needed, obviously.

I Hope to find what I wish....

Ciao!

Unfortunately I'm unable to find anywhere on his site the info regarding how to mount the grip. What base does it work with?

@JG51-Hetzer

The Aviasim-control grip has no specific mount, the lower part is just a tube, like the original grip, so you need a, e.g. Tm/VirPil mechanical adapter.

If you have and Warthog, VPC base,  the more easy way is order an adapter from Debolestis Shapeways*  - ask hin in DCS Forum for  change the upper part of one of their TM adapter for match the KG 13-B grip tube, he use do requested modifications.

https://www.shapeways.com/shops/debolestis

Besides the mechanical adapter you need a 8 bit CD4021 Shift Register, for convert the KG 13-B button press in serial code for Tm and VirPil bases.

See an TM adapter  and the CD4021 Shift Register, in  the - no longer produced; Cheed2006 KG 13-B.

https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/uploads/monthly_12_2017/post-16254-0-15285700-1512402541.jpg

* Or draw and 3D Print one.

For VKB base the solution will be more complicated, because they follow Apple mindset, nothing is compatible with PC, or in their case, with other joysticks bases/grips, requiring their own - and most time "sold out"; mechanical and electronics adapter.

@JG51-Hetzer:

As Sokol saids, there's not info for mount the grip on a specific mechanism. You must to adapt it to you own mechanism.

When mine will arrive, I will adapt it to my own mechanism. I will use a 32pin military socket (https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005001269851479.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.4e51767a2WyFpj&algo_pvid=a9141836-20bf-4e89-a5bc-6d6762a0d4f6&algo_expid=a9141836-20bf-4e89-a5bc-6d6762a0d4f6-6&btsid=2100bdf116062062852803713e31e7&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_)

This also I will adapt to my pourposes.

it looks promising, aviasim replied to me. But Marvel, you have a Virpil base? How did you connect it and where did you plug the aviasim yellow cables?

If you plan use VirPil or Thrustmaster base, need use a shift register circuit in between, like I explain there.

Can order the PCB for a 8 bits Shift register there:
