kiershar Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 In the bf-109 the cannon is inside the squared metal box between the legs of the pilot. I was wondering if that peculiar position was causing particular noises and/or vibrations when it is fired? I've read a lot of different accounts of german pilots but I don't remember if any of them mentionned the quirks of that cannon. If there is specific behaviors for that cannon are they gonna be modeled in the game?
Stallion Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Play offline, and set the time scale to 1/4 or 1/8 and you'll notice the subtle recoil in the guns. The 37mm on the LAGG kicks like a mule
SCG_Neun Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 If this last longer than four hours...you need to call a doctor....
Trident_109 Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 ...or as my friend's girlfriend says, "You've got ten minutes. I don't care what you do the other three hours and fifty minutes." 1
Anw.StG2_Tyke Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Maybe they hadn't those problems because the gun wasn't between their legs? I mean, it was above their legs well separated from the cockpit. Its not like the Mgs in a A6M2 the japanese had which were in the cockpit. 1
Inkophile Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Maybe they hadn't those problems because the gun wasn't between their legs? Here's a grand example of a 109 cockpit. The "box" behind the stick is the breech cover for the cannon, so it is a very legitimate question how much noise and vibration that would cause inside of the cockpit.
siipperi Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Well, it's one of side effects that this sim makes to you.
Anw.StG2_Tyke Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Well, I think there is nearly no sound or other effect. Remeber, directly infront of you is a 37.5 ltr V12 Engine, guess this thing is louder and all other sounds around someone... but thats only an opinion.. :D
