back on desk

Hi got an issue with Cliffs of Dover Blitz/Tobruk going back into the task bar after a few minutes playing. If i'm fast enough by clickint on the launcher icone the game starts again but if not I have to start the game again and I loose the mission I was playing. A shame to be back on the desk when I'm on the six of a bandit...(I play single missions off line most of the time) . I authorized my antivirus for steam and game launcher. I didn't select steam over lay but the issue keeps going on. Any help thanks?

Not clear from your explanation what is happening.

 

If you are dropping to the desktop, but the game is still running, then either windows or another program is starting up and demanding the attention of your PC.

 

If it is Windows, then something like Cortana is starting and demanding your PC's attention... or an update.  Which can be fixed by changing the settings which allow the Windows to start up during 'gaming mode'.

 

If it is another program, then you probably need to change that program's settings so it doesn't start up with the PC start... only if you manually start it.

 

Anti-Virus should not be the problem... if you were able to start the game and play initially, then the game is not being blocked.

 

On the other hand, if you have a crash to desktop when the game completely shuts down, that is a slightly different issue... again, not AV, but more likely something to do with either a) your system not being powerful and being crashed by to high game demands, or b) another program starting up and demanding so much of your PC's resources that the game can't continue.

Thanks for the answer and the link Buzzsaw. Acutally with my gaming PC (Nvidia GeForce 3070 with processor Intel Core i9) I turned off most of programs opening with windows start and checked that the PC is on in Game Mod as well as lauching COD as administrator. Following those ways I have no more return on desk. Cross fingers...
