quasimodox Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Just got my new joystick and have been trying to get it work with IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad. Bought game from Steam. Game has problems to recognize my joystick and when I rarely get inside to game(can open the game, but without properly working controller) , joystick works poorly. Is there something that I should do, something that I have not noticed? Drivers has been updated, game started again several times, drivers uninstalled and installed again.

When you open BoS and it does NOT recognize the joystick, is the joystick also NOT recognized by Windows? When BoS does recognize the joystick, what do you mean by "works poorly"? As an aside, I think that particular joystick is very poor. I would recommend almost any other joystick over it. However, that doesn't mean it is the cause of your problems, I just don't think it a very good joystick.
Sokol1 Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 If you need start the game through STEAM interface, disable STEAM controller (untick all options) in STEAM settings. The game IL-2 don't assign joystick controls automatically, you need do this manually, in Key Binds.

Working poorly means that every "commands" in game does not work. Need to try to solve problems with this poor joystick?. Sokol1, thanks for your comments too. I try to make changes and try to write down more exactly what I do and what are the problems.
