GUID and controller names changing between Windows user accounts

My son and I have individual accounts on a Windows 10 computer.  When I log in my Saitek Pro Throttle Quadrant is detected as "Saitek Pro Flight Quadrant" with a certain GUID.  When my son logs into his account that same throttle, plugged into the same USB port, is detected as a "Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant" with a different GUID.  

 

Naturally this causes IL-2 to ask how this "new device" should be assigned.  We're constantly bouncing back and forth between the two as we each play IL-2.  I think this is a Windows 10 issue, not IL-2, but wondered if anyone else experiences this.
