I've been looking to get into flying bombers in il2 and thinking of getting a yoke to add to immersion.  I've flown them before a few times but it just feels odd using a stick (I have the vkb gladiator mk 2 I think. It's the cheap er plastic version).  It's probably easier but thinking a yoke would make flying a bomber feel different.

I've seen the Ch, Logitech and honeycomb yokes are most common.   Although the honeycomb is like £300 right now so maybe too expensive.  Anyone got any suggestions on other yokes or how these ones I've mentioned?  2nd hand is an option too.

Thanks

Yokes seem to pop up used all the time around here, but recently, the prices have been too high. I'd consider waiting for a few months for MS2020 craze to settle down.

I've had two yokes, the honeycomb and a CH. The HC was far superior IMO, but the CH one I bought was used and beat up, so YMMV. I would have kept the HC, but as I prefer to fly fighters mostly and not so much the P-38, I thought the hassle of switching back and forth wasn't worth the effort. If you're serious about bombing or making the P-38 your plane of choice, then I definitely think the yoke is the way to go. HC's are getting good reviews for the most part. The going price was $250, but there's premiums on all the yokes right now.

Yeah the prices here are crazy right now too.  I saw a ch one 2nd hand for £60 but with lockdown here in UK I can't go and get it lol.

The HC looks great though but probably can't justify it at that price at the moment.  If microprose's b17 sim was out already.....maybe :)

it just looks like there's not much choice in the market right now, compared to Hotas or joysticks.

I'm part thinking should I wait a few months and part thinking that with lockdown I might not have as much spare time again so might just bite the bullet on something just for the entertainment purposes.

How did you find the yoke for flying bombers? I have only ever used a joystick for any flying games so wonder about the differences.
