atyour6 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Hoping someone out there could tell me how to save an IL2 recorded track in a format that will not be lost when the game is updated. Had a grand father who fought in a P-51. Turned him onto IL2 when it first came out long time ago. He was amazed. He has since passed but wish he could see it now. But pont being obviously im kinda old and just need a little assistance here. I know it can be done since you guys post Sturmovik vids on youtube (and here) all the time.
AndyJWest Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Short answer - you replay the track, while recording it as a video file. 'Tracks' are in a specialised format, that can only be replayed through IL-2 GB itself. A video file ( e.g. .mp4 format) can be played back on any standard video playback software. As to which video recording software you use, there are multiple options. If you have an NVidia graphics card, the recorder that comes with GeForce Experience does the job well enough. Depending on what exactly you are trying to achieve, you may want to edit your video recordings afterwards - most of the more-refined IL-2 GB videos you will see on YouTube won't have been done in a single 'take'. Instead the track may be replayed and recorded several times, using different camera views etc, and the final uploaded video will be put together from these recordings, using a video editor. 1
