Doc62 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hi, I am unable to clear and reassign existing axis controls and buttons in the control's section. For example I try to clear and re assign but, Joystick axis RV Keeps re entering itself in the assignment box. I hope this makes sense. I can provide screen shots of this process.

As ZZZ says, your joystick axes is likely spiking spontaneously and causing an input.... probably the pots need cleaning. You can also enter the values by manually editing the config file if you know the joystick ID.
Doc62 Posted January 1, 2021 Author Posted January 1, 2021 Hi, Thanks for your reply. I'm trying to load a new joystick, the old one is no longer connected and doesn't show in my devices. When I try to reassign new axis etc, I can't clear the box showing the current axis allocation. I clear joystick+ RZ axis, which shows as the current assignment, it dissappear for a milli second then reappear's so I can't put my new selection in the assignment box. Joystick + RZ keeps popping into every assignment box regardless. Hope this makes sense. Doc.
DD_FT- Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Try and move all axis and sliders on the joystick through their entire range, as to 'calibrate' them. Then try to assign the axis. Any other game controllers connected?

Hello Doc From what I can determine there is a button being held down somewhere on either your keyboard or on your joystick which is inputting. I would suggest you start by reading the 'Getting Started and Troubleshooting Guide" in the 'manuals' folder in your main il-2 game folder. There are many suggestions for fixes for issues such as you mention.

You need open the stick (or the affected controller) and clean this potentiometer (use contact cleaner spray or Isopropyl alcohol), or even replace there, if the brand furnish replacement AFAIK, only CH Products made replacement potentiomters available, for Thrustmaster T.16000M twist axis the model are available in Digikey, Mouser, with Saitek's you are out luck, the used pot' are made by Polyshine, but no electronic store have then. Potentiometer used in joystick is not the same common pot available in stores, they are "joystick potentiometer with limited "effective electric angle" (30 - 30) used in joysticks, gamepad and RC controls. In IL-2:GB (Bo'x) are a noise filter for deal with bad potentiometers, but CloD don't have this "advanced functions. As "band aid" try: Donwload DView or DXTweak, and using then set a big deadzone (100) for this RV axis, then assign the other axes, after decrease or remove this deadzone and try use this fault axis. Maybe this trick work. Both software available there: https://derekspearedesigns.com/technical-guide.html
