Firenz Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Do AI aircraft, particularly enemy aircraft, fly at altitudes that are likely to bring them into contact with a player's flight following the PWCG generated mission's waypoints? I started a new campaign and my first mission was a strategic intercept mission with waypoints set at 6825m (at night) and did not see a thing, nor did anything show up on the event log in the debrief except for some ground combat. This is also pertinent to a co-op campaign that I am in where we are trying to decide how strictly to follow the waypoints. We tend to fly between 2000m and 3000m even if the mission waypoints are 3000m+ to increase our chances of spotting low flying il-2s. If the enemy aircraft are more likely to be close to the mission waypoint altitudes we will try and stick to them a bit closer or fly high/low cover.
PatrickAWlson Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 At the moment not necessarily. They are going about their business. There is a specific flight but I just looked at the code and it is not doing a good enough job of driving that flight into your intercept path. Something I need to work on.
Firenz Posted January 1, 2021 Author Posted January 1, 2021 Thanks for the reply Pat. Really enjoying PWCG. We're running a co-op with max pilots and it's going great.
