Possible to add a CPU setting between Low and Medium?

Is it possible to add a CPU setting between low and medium that generates more airtraffic than low (which feels barren in the sky) and medium (which is interesting but brings my 8700k to it's knees). Ideally one that maybe cuts out a few flights from medium while retaining escorts?

I support.
I have a fairly powerful computer, and the settings are now:
Air Density - Low
Ground Density - Low
AA Density - Med
CPU Allowance - High
Air activity suits me completely, there are battles in each flight (sometimes 20 or more aircraft in one battle), but the ground is empty, in GROUND ATTACK missions there are problems with finding a target ..
And if I set the Ground Density - Med setting, then slowdowns begin in large-scale air battles.
It would be nice to have more gradations of settings so that everyone can flexibly adjust the density of the battle, based on the capabilities of their computer.

You can do that.  Set air activity to medium.  Then go to advanced settings and tweak number of flights.

<Your Campaign> -> Configuration -> Advanced Configuration -> Mission Limits

From there the most impactful settings are Max Allied Flights and Max Axis Flights

You will notice that allied flights are greater than axis.  If you fly Allied, want opposition, but want fewer flights then maybe you drop allied flights by a couple.  This would keep enemy flights in the air and save CPU time by limiting friendly flights.

I'll try that. Is there a way to maybe make flights smaller? Instead of 4 bombers and 2 escorts, 2 bombers and 2 escorts? That would remove some of the higher CPU planes (I've read bombers take more CPU than fighters) while still providing 4 targets to take down?

Right above mission limits is Aircraft Numbers

Set minimum to 2 and additional to zero.

Patrick, what is the difference between Ground Density - Low, Med and High (and also between AA Density), and is it possible to make intermediate values for more flexible settings?

I tried changing the Ground Density settings again from Low to Med.
Visually, there were significantly more units on the ground - by 3 or 4 times.

Patrick, maybe it makes sense to change the Ground Density and AA Density settings - to indicate not Low, Med or High, but a exact value?
For example, Ground Density is from 100 to 500 units, and AA Density is from 20% to 40% of value the Ground Density.
Firstly, it will be immediately clear how many units are in the map, and secondly, it will be possible to flexibly adjust the performance of the game, based on the capabilities of the computer.

What is the difference between air activity (low, mid, high) and number of flight? I'm confused since Patrick replay that suggest to increase the air activity and reduce the flight, I though the parameters were almost the same.

Thanks

By "number of flight"  assume that you mean the advanced config.  Answer: number of flights is an advanced config impacted by the simple config "Air Activity".  The simple config affects more than the advanced config, but  in this case they are linked.

Simple configs often alter advanced config parameters.  The idea is to use simple configs to create the general environment.  Advanced config is used for fine tuning if you are not getting what you want from simple.
