Just loaded the new update and flew one Skirmish.   What stands out is how smoothly the sim flew in VR this time: absolutely beautiful.  Not one stutter and the image in my VR headset didn't "swim" or "swirl" at all.   Nice.

ADDIT: Just watched the FR.

I flew the Dr.1 and shot down a Camel.  I think I may have damaged his rudder but this time, instead of jamming hard over to one side; it was kind of flapping around and switching from one side to the other with changes in heading.

Didn't look like the usual normal rudder inputs I've seen in FC1 so far.

It also didn't make him lose control to the point where he crashed, either.  He flew on for more than minute and only went down after I shot the pilot.

I realize it was only one flight and I will be looking into it further but right now I'm wondering if that might be the Devs responding to the jammed rudder issue.

So far, 505 looks and flies great for me in VR.

ADDIT 2:  Just flew the Zoo: in From Behind map.  Just the same as the Skirmish in SP.  Very smooth.

ADDIT 3:  Just flew Flugpark Lens Afternoon map.  This is a very graphically busy site; lots going on and that adds up in my VR headset.  Something to do with frame rates or the like; I don't exactly know.  But when I maneuver hard, the image stutters a bit and the flow gets a little choppy.  I can still fly it but it's not quite as smooth as the others.  I don't think it's Flugpark's fault; I think it's a VR headset thing because there's so much going on  there: snow, cities ablaze, grunt gunners capping on planes from the ground, FLAK, ordinance blowing  up, and more.  I'd imagine people in 2D with TIR don't have this problem, though.  Other than that, the sim flies well and it was good fights at the Flugpark.  I got an assist and a successful landing in the triplane.  Brisfits everywhere.  That's the only plane I really worry about.  They can turn really well and get you coming and going.  Prosit!  :salute:

ADDIT 4:  Just went back and watched the VR.  None of that stuttering in the playback.  Great graphics in a very active environment.  //   I had been working on a bot Brisfit and the fight drifted into a fight between an Albatros and a Brisfit flown by two human pilots.  I lost sight of mine and thought the live pilot was the bot.  I got a few hits and thus the assist; but the coolest part was right before it ended.  Both the Albatros and my Dr.1 were turning independently with the Bristol Fighter and I didn't know where my countryman was.  Then, suddenly, our paths crossed at 90 degrees with him passing only a few feet right in front of me.  (Fortunately, that was just as I'd stopped shooting.)  His guns were a -blazin', though; and that's what put the Brisfit down.  But to see that happen right in front of your eyes in 3D is frikkin' incredible.  You're flying along in an open cockpit when suddenly, with a roar that shakes you, a plane crosses your path at  very close range and high speed.  The adrenaline rush is real.

Prosit!  :salute:

ADDIT 5: After those first two flights, I read some comments in another thread about the DM; went back to check and they are right.  You can shoot them full of holes; turn the plane to Swiss cheese; a SPAD will show hits to the top wing tank severe enough to knock the tank ajar in its mount; the fuselage, cockpit, and engine compartment will be shredded; but she won't be leaking a drop of fuel or steam and so far i haven't seen one burn, either.

Another thing I may have noticed: they  usually slow down after they get shot up.  Seems like that SPAD was flying faster; right up until the time he flew into the trees.

That happened tonight while flying that fuel tank flaming test I've been doing for the past three months: I'm in a D7F; he's a novice bot in a SPAD; we're in a right turn; I'm in his four at 0.05 meters shooting controlled short bursts specifically at his fuel tanks.  I can usually flame 'em pretty easily that way.  Not now, though.  I'm hitting the target as before but it's not having the same effect.

Yep.  Something wrong with the DM.  :(
