IL2 BoS with TIR5... a whole new sim...

I got a TIR5 and track clip Pro from a friend. 

 

I actually got IL2 from another friend as an offer, ehehe, great friends I have!!!

 

Well, IL2 BoS was such a "revolution" in my flight simmer life that I ended up buying Rise of Flight, and now IL2 BoS, RoF and DCS are my 3 sims. Completely lost any interest in Civil sims....

 

When I am online at some MP session I find it difficult to adapt my view using the keyboard or the joystick, so, this TIR5 thing really makes a whole lot of a difference, but I also got to get

accustomed to it.

 

I am using the default "smooth" profile that comes with the 5.2.2 TIR software install, and works ok with IL2 and RoF, but yesterday I found an alternative profile by "Requiem", an author of many

important information sources for both IL2 and RoF... His 6DOF profile feels very good too, but I wonder if any of you have customized profiles for each plane? There certainly are differences among them.

 

A word of advice for any who might come across a problem I had yesterday, and Extreme_one at the Early access forum helped me solving... 

 

All of a sudden the Yak-1 cockpit was shifted left, no matter what I did with TIR :-(. The other aircraft were OK.

 

Well, it turned out to be that I should have pressed F10 during a session, while I was using TIR and my position displaced from center, and that position was stored as the center reference :-/ 

Solved by pausing TIR5, then re-centering using the keyboard Ins/Del/Home/End and then connecting TRIR back :-)

 

I still have a lot to learn in IL2 (and RoF), lot's of interesting videos by Requiem and many others to watch, but guys, these two are probably the best simulator I ever used, well, and DCS World too :-)

Yes those are some great flight sims. TrackIR5 really makes a difference  

Although I am eager about IL2BoS, I find myself spending more and more time in RoF. It's just fantastic.
