Honeycomb Bravo Throttle / axis problems

I have to admit I'm new to this game, but I've spent hours trying to set the throttle, mixture, and RPM on the engine controls.   I can get them set, then they stop working.  Sometime just the throttle, and other times it's every axis.  Very frustraighting.

I can get the mixture working briefly, and then it turns into a button press even though it still says Joy0_axis_W.   It will be half way on and click to full on.

I am using a USB hub that is not powered.  If I go into windows to check "set up USB game controllers" all the values are correctly being shown.  It is not the controller.

Now I have to believe it is the current version of the game.  I just downloaded and installed everything today.   Also, I use this throttle with Microsoft Flight simulator 2020 and it works fine.  There has to be a bug in IL-2 that is causing the problem.  If I leave the game completely and come back in, it will sometime work.  But after a while, as I fly, the throttle, mixture and RPM settings will fail.

I download the premier versions of Battle of Bodenplatte and Battle of Kuban.

I'm at a loss for fixing this.

this is probably the problem. Move to a powered USB port and see if it is still happening.

I just checked my port, it is an Attola powered USB 7 port.

So the hub is plugged into the computer and also to an external power supply.

Is this happening with all planes you fly (sounds like it, but just to be sure)?

Does it affect your stick/yoke settings at the same time or is it only the throttle (sounds like not, but just to be sure)?

Are  you using any controller software aside from windows base usb controller (sounds like you are not, but just to be sure)?

I had the Honeycomb yoke (not throttle) for awhile and never had a problem; however, I returned it quickly as It didn't feel right for most of the a/c I usually fly. So I cannot test it on my system to see if the latest update somehow messed things up.

I just went into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 to test it there and I have the same problem : (         This is a brnd new throttle!

Yea, the USB hub has an external power block

I'm going to reboot.  Now it is not working in microsofts USB game controller test

I rebooted and then went into the USB game controller program and saw it had a "reset" button.  That has fixed it there.  Trying Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 now.

I've got it working as before in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.  Back to IL-2 to see if it is still acting up.

I plugged the throttle directly into a computer USB port.   That will eliminate the USB hub as a problem.

Back in IL-2 and the throttle worked for a little bit, then has failed again.  I have to believe it is IL-2 not liking the Bravo.

Maybe someone from IL-2 can take a look at this.  In researching the issue here,  It seems to be happening with other throttles also.

As it stands right now, the game is not playable for me at all.

UPDATE:

After following some of the recommendations already in the forum, I went into quick mission then settings then key mappings.  None of the throttle choices were working.  I clicked on the tune setting to the very right of the axis setting.

But when I went into the game, they were all working!  Imagine that!   throttle, mixture and RPM all worked.   Evidently, using the quick mission with key mappings does not work with my computer.  But it works in the game.

My first impressions of the game are a little rough.  Buildings were floating 100 feet in the air!   Yes, you can still crash if you try to fly through them.  Flying missions is very hard.  It is truely a flight simulator with combat as its  forte'.

I think I will enjoy learning to dogfight with this game!
