Blitzen Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 I should have asked this back in the initial roll out of VR... Many people today have had their contact lenses ( or the insert lenses after Cataract eye operations )so that the dominate eye ( usually the right eye) is fitted for long distance viewing , while the left eye is fitted for reading. This generally works great for those of us with vision problems, but with VR I’m not sure. For the years I’ve used VR ( Oculus, Pimax , and now Reverb G2,) I’ve had sharp vision with my right eye and no matter how much I’ve played with adjusting the pupil distance , the image seen by my left eye is always slightly blurred.I’ve marked this off to my own Mono Vision - am I correct ? If so I guess I just have to live with it...correct? Thanks!

If you have monovision as a result of intra-ocular lenses following cataract surgery or with contact lenses then you will be expecting the non-dominant (near) focused eye to be slightly blurred. You don’t have to live with it necessarily as the focal point can be changed from near to distance in the non dominant eye with a contact lens worn in that eye, or glasses (which might have a Plano lens for the dominant eye).
Blitzen Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 Ironic...After years of using contacts I am finally lens free BUT to use VR I may have to get a left lens or glasses to make things work...ironic?
ZiggyZiggyStar Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Yes, but do you need to do this? Does the left vision being a little blurred interfere with the quality of your vision with both eyes viewing in VR? Or do you only notice the blur when you close your dominant eye? I would have thought if you are happy with monovision in day to day life you will still be happy in VR.

You are correct- after all I've been playing with VR since the first Oculus and have managed nicely. I suspected all along I was having problems with "me" not the hardware...I just wanted to confirm it. Thanks!
