kraut1 54 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) MODERATOR EDIT: Note: Below is a User created guide for enabling a work-around setup for VR in CLIFFS OF DOVER - BLITZ and DESERT WINGS - TOBRUK, not an official release. We appreciate the work which has been done. 👍 ----- Change log: 26.Dec.2020 first issue 27.Dec.2020 recommended graphic resolution changed 30.Dec.2020 6a.) theOden dynamic Campaign / Battle of France tested with VR 06.Jan.2021 6b.)-theOden dynamic mission Battle of Britain: 08.Jan.2021 Major update: Tracking with VorpX, without Opentrack 12.Jan.2021 ON HOLD - THERE ARE SOME ISSUES WITH SETTINGS / CLOD CURRENTLY DOES NOT WORK WITH VORPX ON MY COMPUTER (RECENTERING PROBLEM) 13.Jan.2021 Issue with Tracking solved, Oculus Guardian was defined wrong 17.Jan.2021 Hint to check for system for possibility of custom resolutions, new resolution testet Hi All, for CLOD Blitz VR gaming (without stereoscopic vision). VorpX profile (downloaded): CHANGED 08.Jan.2021: OPENTRACK NO MORE REQUIRED: Current Opentrack settings see attached .zip. General comments: -this is a workaround for restricted VR gaming (witout stereoscopic vision). -the cockpits are due to lack of stereoscopic vision only of mean quality. -I like that I am in the Cockpit of the plane, the other planes and some effects like trackers are looking well from my point of view. -the combination Oculus - VorpX - CLOD Blitz / Tobruk works on my computer but maybe not on other computers Before you buy VorpX check if custom resolutions can be defined on your system / see end of this post (added 17.01.2021) -start ordner: 1.: Oculus Software, Demo Mode activated with selected opentrack, CLOD Bltz Added:13.jan.2021: if proplems with chaotic centering occur, check the Oculus Guardian, for my problems on 12.Jan. it was the reason! 2.(Start VorpX: -tracking is activated / see ingame menu (CHANGED 08.Jan.2021) Before you buy VorpX check if custom resolutions can be defined on your system / see end of this post (added 17.01.2021) 3.) Start CLOD Blitz -in conf.ini change mouse to 1: (CHANGED 08.Jan.2021) [rts] ; 0 - not use, 1 - show cursor and not capture, 2 - not show cursor, and capture mouseUse=1 Explanation: I had always problems with the VorpX recentering function - it did not worked. Because of that I used additionally Opentrack. I found out that the reason for this VorpX problem was that in CLOD is panning with mouse is activated by default when mouse = 2 After change to Mouse =1 VorpX Recentering works -tested FOV = 90° Advantages: (CHANGED 08.Jan.2021) -Smoother Head Tracking -You can get closer to the sight / gauges, you see, that the gauges (eg. BF109-E7) are 3D -more realistic movement when turning your head backwards over the shoulder with better visibility backwards to recognize enemys Current disadvantage: (CHANGED 08.Jan.2021) when rotating Head the sidewards x movement is a bit to big, but from my point of view ecceptable -for all Menu actions, selecting of Missions... with Monitor -after selection of mission (when you see the map) confirm and now pull on your VR headset. -fly the mission in without interruption from take off to landing -during mission DO NOT press ESCAPE changing settings or so. -after landing press ESCAPE to quit the mission -pull off your VR Headset -the mouse pointer is invisible, but the menu items will be highlited when the invisible pointer is over them. -after you have confirmed to leave the mission you can use the arrow keays and esacpe / return for menu -go back to main menu step by step and quit the simulation -quit programs in order: VorpX, opentrack, Oculus 4.) my new graphic resolution in conf.ini: (changed 17.Jan.2021) width=2240 height=1680 (new graphic resolution 2240x1680 in ratio 4:3 tested today, seems be much better than 2304x1440) (VorpX suggested custom resolution, first define with Nvdia contol the custom resolution) I recomment this res. only for flying, for mission builder full hd is better) 6.) Testing of VR settings in offline campaigns: 6a.)-Tobruk german fighter JG27 campaigm (tested in August): https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/46837-il2-cod-blitz-vr-support-when/page/5/?tab=comments#comment-990706 ...I survived 6 JG27 campaign missions (shot down in the 7th) and scored 6kills with realistic settings (no helpers like icons... 6b.)-theOden dynamic mission Battle of France: -campaign easy to install -I flew 2 missions with JG54 BF109-E3 and 2 missions with JG.77 BF109-E1: -It worked well, enough enemy contact, balanced mission design, you have opprtunities to attack enemys, but you have to care for enemy fighters, their attacks are medium dangerous, but even with the limited FOV that I use you have a good chance to recognise them and escape with evasive actions, their shooting is of medium accuracy, dangerous but not supernatural accurate. -my VR settings: FOV limited but sufficient to find attacking enemys and to spot enemy at least medium distances. -still to do: in theOdens dynamic mission there are new offline radio commands mapped that I have not programmed for my Hotas settings and due to the limited FOV I only see a bit of the extra campaigns messages at the top of the view 6C.) theOden dynamic mission Battle of Britain tested with VR In respect of my VR Settings: -nice Map and Planes -good for combat with many Planes (dogfights of 2 squadrons of each 12 plane no problem / recognizing many enemy planes at a distance of ca. 5miles and more possible) -Missions with clear weather at mid-day result in better graphics (similar to BOX and 1946), many clouds and early morning fog are working, but seems to have an negative effect to graphic appearance. Final Notes: -this workaround works on my current computer settings. After each update of Oculus, VorpX or Windows it may not work anymore -VorpX cost some money, maybe you have to test many, many hours to get a good result and maybe the hole thing will not work. - Before you buy VorpX check if custom resolutions can be defined on your system (added 17.01.2021) see below Edited Sunday at 08:51 PM by kraut1 added: hint to check system for custom res., new better graphic resolution 1

drewm3i-VR 10 Posted Friday at 01:42 AM I'm not understanding how to define a custom resolution? My image looks very grainy at 1080P and every time I set it higher in the conf.ini, it resets itself to 1080p.

Hi, check 2 things: custom resolution in NVIDIA Control Panel and conf.ini in correct folder have you defined the custom resolution 2304x1440 in the NVidia Control Panel?: see VorpX Config/Custom Resolutions: NVIDIA Control Panel on my computer (sorry in german): Location of conf.ini with custom .resolution: example folder of conf.ini with custom resolution: do not change the conf.ini in this folder: Best regards 0-conf.ini.zip

If we don't find a solution for the custom res. you can try out to optimize 1920x1080 withn the VorX ingame Menu (when flying): Image settings/Aspect Ratio Correction and Image Settings/ Image Zoom. This could be possible because with my standard custom res. 2304x1440 (shown on Monitor) and standard settings of the profile not the whole Monitor is shown in the Head Set. TimSell75 0 Posted 11 hours ago Hello, I have also tried to get COD working with Vorpx but with no success (HP Reverb G2). It simply will not attach to the game. I easily managed to get Vorpx running with IL2 1946 as well as other non-sim games but not with COD (Which was the main reason to buy it). What I already tried: - Created a VorpX Shortcut for COD - Enabled Admin Mode - Enabled alternate hooking method - Tried all different Cloud Profiles Any idea what to try next? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi, I posted a question in the VorpX forum. In the meantime I tried to optimize the CLOD VorpX profile for 1080p. I suggest to use FOV70 degree, it seems to be better for a lower resolution. The FOV is sufficient for a offline dog fight. Best regards 0-VorpX-COD-Profile-test01-1080p.zip
