Problems with buttkicker

Hi everyone,

I have just installed a buttkicker gamer 2 and andres simshaker wings software v2.4

It has detected il2 is running and when I press the test bass shaker button you can feel it buzz

The problem is that when I run il2 ALL the actions (like firing guns, etc) dont trigger any buttkicker effects.

I have modified my startup.cfg file with:

[KEY = motiondevice]
    addr = "127.0.0.1"
    decimation = 2
    enable = true
    port = 29373
[END]

[KEY = telemetrytdevice]
    addr = "127.0.0.1"
    decimation = 2
    enable = true
    port = 29373
[END]

I noticed that if I say pull the trigger, or activate another effect in il2, that there is a delay before the UDP packet shows on the text log information and sometimes nothing shows here.

HELP!!!!

This helped me. Download and use the same (voice meter) software and just do what he does.

No doesnt really help as I have voicemeeter configured as he says with VB-Audio as virtual input and my buttkicker as output.
All it currently does is play normal speaker engine sound back  into buttkicker but does not do any UDP specific outputs from simshaker other than a buzz when you press test bass-shaker.

I dont have their 6-bass shaker add-on software installed as the standard simshaker wings software says it supports up to 2 shakers but some posts online seem a bit unclear on this if it needs the extra software module for il2 and just a single buttkicker gamer 2

I have had a single ButtKicker set up since SimShaker Wings was first announced here and wouldn’t fly without it. I had some very minor problems with the initial setup but all very good after that.

I don’t use VM so offer no feedback here. Are you aware that you need one sound “path” for game audio and another for ButtKicker? I’ve seen people accommodate this in several different ways. Check out this and other sim forums to get some alternatives.

My ButtKicker is connected to the sound output from my motherboard. Game sounds run through an external sound card. These are my two different sound “paths”. Good luck.

I have the buttkicker connected to the motherboard sound card as you do and I have now uninstalled voicemeeter software as I can just redirect the simshaker software only to this soundcard output which is then dedicated to it.
It all seems to work fine (pressing test in simshaker wings makes buttkicker buzz) and in the simshaker wings text log information window it shows it has detected the il2 software, loaded its preset and is receiving UDP packets. The only problem then it seems is that none of the actions in il2 produce a buzz on the buttkicker.

Almost there but not quite.

It would be useful if they had individual test buttons for each of the effects in the boxes

It looks like the UDP output from il2 is not interfacing with simshaker.

I have attached a copy of the verbose log at bottom but I think it should have different output lengths and state the effect triggered?

Can you help Andre??

One of the glitches I've encountered in VR is the order in which things are fired up. If I don't follow the order I get no vibes. The game (for me) has to be running first (loading screen beyond log-in at least). Then I alt-esc to get onto the desktop and then fire up SSW. That gets me vibes.

What sound output devices are you running? What speaker setup/inputs do you have?
