1./JG42Nephris Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) Hi folks, since the past 15 years (i guess) i used the G940. Right now the stick needs to be exchanged. As some of you know, a G940 exchange means an exchange of Throttle Pedals Stick as Stick & Throttle are connected and are in need of themselves. I already changed the throttle to a Warthog Thrustmaster Throttle years ago. That means I need a new Stick new pedals leaving VR thoughts aside at first .... Already checked the threads, which made me tend to Virpil or VKB products VKB - Gunfighter MK III (329€) VKB - Gladiator NXT (150$) VKB - T-Rudders MK IV (215) Virpil - WarBRD Base (190€) + WARBRD Grip (90€) Virpil - ACE Interceptor Pedals (300€) Thrustmaster Warthog (300€) What are your expieriences with the products (bugs, haptic, controll precision, calibrating, assembling, ingame feel...) warranty behaviour / customer support shipping time (order to receive, in my case EU/GER) I hope you can help me in my decision to update the system and get back into virtual flying asap again. Thanx and best wishes for ,these strange feeling, X-mas days. ? Edited December 23, 2020 by 1./JG42Nephris
DD_Perfesser Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 I'd been looking for new stick for a while and had settled on VKB when I discovered the Winwing Super Libra. I ended up buying it and I'm pretty happy with it save a couple of things. The 2nd stage of the trigger was very stiff and hard to get used to and the thumb hat is a bit stiff. I found it a bit too tall to just sit on top of your desk. All the buttons on this stick seem to be high quality and overall it does require effort but it's very but smooth and precise with the softest spring set installed. 1

KG 12-B grip is very limited in functionality, is 3 buttons + POV HAT or 2 buttons + POV HAT + 6 buttons (virtual, pressing pink button as "shift"), anyway is OK for WWII CFS only. Enzo38 Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Have you made your choice ? looking into Virpil product, there are really different grips, and I'm not sure of the difference between them. are some of them more oriented to space sim than plane sim ? thanks
kestrel79 Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 How long has Winwing been around are they pretty new? You don't hear of them much on this forum, more on the DCS side. How does their stuff compare to VKB and Virpil?
von_Tom Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 it depends if you want a desktop setup or one on a desk mount. If you plan on VR then desk mount. Either way the VIRPIL stuff is very good. I’d go with the T-50CM2 base, an extension and a warthog grip. The throttle is good too. Pedals are the MFG crosswinds. I cannot comment on the Virpil pedals but someone I know has them and thinks they are very good. For both of these I ordered and after a little time they turned up. Nothing to criticise in the ordering or delivery process. Set up of the controls is a bit of a pain but you do it very rarely so not a problem. von Tom

Their gimbal mechanism is a kind o pincer - so have a defined center detent; instead the progressive CAM used by VKB and Virpil, WingWing real appeal is for "jet" pilots. VKB Gunfighter or VirPIl WarBRD or T50CM2 (for use with extension) gimbals will be more friendly for WW II planes dogfight. Edited January 8, 2021 by Sokol1 1

Thanx and best wishes for ,these strange feeling, X-mas days. ? brother you're limited in terms of finding a proper replacement for the g940's major feature - force feedback. if you want that you're gonna have to DIY your own msffb2 base and a modern grip like i've done. Otherwise you're gonna have to give that feature up. i've been using the virpil t-50 throttle and grip, along with mfg crosswind rudders - each component is simply fantastic. no bullshit cheap plastic feeling to any part of them. virpil units have so many buttons and such high quality you'll never regret the units. 1
1./JG42Nephris Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 At the end my choice are the MFG Crosswind Pedals and Virpil Stick. Ashame FFB is not anymore right now, but at the end ..... so what. Thx to everyone helpin here!
