Tempus Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Pan Am is still WIP. The translation from 2d template into the 3d model nose of the C-47 is a pain in the ass ;)))), so Pan Am nose needs a lot of patience and a lot of "try & failure" time. As soon as I got it finished I'm going to upload it here, I promise, more or less in a week or even less. That paint livery is one of my all times favorite liverie for the DC-3. For me was love at first sight the way it completely changes the original visual line and shape of the DC-3. Really appreciate your interest in these non military liveries. 1 1
Beebop Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 (edited) I'm liking these civil skins very much. Take all the time needed, it will be worth it. And a request from me if all this doesn't burn you out, TWA, "The Lindbergh Line"? Edited January 11, 2021 by Beebop 4
Heliopause Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Perhaps at some point a KLM machine? ? Seen here with neutrality markings (or should I say texts?); pre-may 1940. 2
Tempus Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 I got serious doubts from where it is ?. I guess the painters started from Holland and at the point they realize they're going to run out of black paint then they decided to paint in very small letters: KLM. Even her paint looks simple actually it isn't: 5 different types of letter fonts ?, but looks fantastically shiny.

I tried some civilian DC3 stuff, non historical though. Edited January 12, 2021 by jollyjack 1 1

I have had some other RL issues to contend with lately. Those are fading so I'm looking at getting back to the learning curve. Thanks for the vote of confidence but although I may have some skills but there are many with equal or mostly better. I really like the ICRC skins.

Here Are All The C-47s Flying To Normandy For D-Day 2019 Hello Skinners ..... Need some font help; yesterday i tried to find a font as on the 2nd and 4th c47 here, but i could not find one .... Been searching all over the public font download sites ... only 2 come close, but none really matched the corners on the 8 and 9 here ...
Beebop Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Which font(s) are you using? I have the Amarillo fonts, USAAF and USN fonts plus 6 RAF fonts, an RCAF font, an RCN font and UK NumberPlate. Still with all these fonts I often have to hand modify them to get an exact match. Sometimes I have to use one of my "normal" fonts and modify that. Right out of the box I found that these two fonts came fairly close. Note that the RCAF font was compressed and stretched to come close. Both would require a bit of tweaking but it shouldn't be too hard to do. HTH
migmadmarine Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Should we remove the LI-2 at least from the title of this thread, seeing as we will be getting an LI-2 which will presumably use a slightly different template.

jollyjack Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Maybe someone else has these skins, like Delta Airlines ... uploading f.i. to Haluter's is possible, and crediting the original author can be done ... 1
Reggie_Mental Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 I have this skin. Anyone wants to send me their e-mail address and I will send you the .dds file
