BlindAsABat Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Having given up on giving up on the Tempest I can't help but notice that its cockpit gauges are like most RAF aeroplanes sited badly. The layout might have worked in real life but in the game even with a head tracker it is hopeless. Only by extreme body contortions, for example, can one see just a part of the boost dial, quite an important instrument in engine management. Similarly the compass is hidden away behind the stick where it cannot be easily seen (honestly, one has to wonder about the RAF did they really expect their pilots to navigate by "The Force"). Anyway, these problems are I am sure well enough known, so I wonder if anyone has produced a version of Virtual Cockpit (in which selected gauges can be displayed on a second monitor) for BoX. They did it for CloD so I was just wondering.
Vishnu Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 VR is the way to go....I thought about getting TrackIR, had it at one time, but my son got an Oculus Rift for Christmas for his computer. Tried it with IL2 .... holy crap..... that's all I can say. It's literally like being in the cockpit. I'm a licensed pilot, and with today's technology, and for the price, this is a close as it gets. Can't wait to see the future 1 2
