WWSitttingDuck Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 There are a slew of new mission types in ME. Does selecting any of these new types actually do anything?
IckyATLAS Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 No idea what this does. The only thing I know comes from Jim's manual which states that you have to select "Single" as mission type for having single player missions. But there is no further explanation. I did not look back since than (many years ago) at this. But I am interested if someone can explain what it is, and how to use it. If they added new types there must be a reason. I would have preferred the missing static plane types though ?
JG1_Butzzell Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 uhm could they be for careers? Noticed photo recon.
Jaegermeister Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) I am fairly sure it is presets for career missions. It has to index a mission template with a reference somewhere. The photo recon mission type will probably be in the upcoming FCII career mode in the 2 seater planes. I want to know what the "Rat Scramble" is... Edited December 17, 2020 by Jaegermeister
JimTM Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 As far as I know, the only mission types we can use are: Single Campaign Deathmatch Cooperative

Those were missions where the RAF would keep Tempests on standby to intercept Me 262s and Ar 234s orbiting the airfields in the Achmer / Rheine area: http://iloveww2warbirds.com/hawker-tempests-take-262s/ Quote Tempests on immediate alert took off when an Me 262 was reported to be airborne. They did not intercept the jet, but instead flew towards the Me 262 and Ar 234 base Rheine-Hopsten. The aim was to attack jets on their landing approach, when they were at their most vulnerable, traveling slowly, with flaps down and incapable of rapid acceleration. 1 1
