Hello all,

Long time reader, first time poster. I've searched through the forum in attempt to find a solution to my problem but haven't found a thread that specifically address the issue I've been having with my Saitek Throttle Quadrant. The three axis levers (set up to control my throttle, RPM, fuel mixture) will cut out randomly. Sometimes in the middle of a flight, shortly after starting the engine, or will be dead from the get go. The buttons at the base of each level will still be functional. Irritatingly enough, sometimes after a few minutes of flight the sim will start reading the axis levers again.

Initially I thought this was an issue with the quadrant. However, at times (less frequently than the quadrant), the keys I have set up to control my radiators will also stop working momentarily. This issue does not persist, usually only lasting for 15 seconds or so (rough guesstimate). I've only taken up this hobby a few months ago so the quadrant isn't old, nor is the keyboard.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Of course it may be defective. Nevertheless, consider the possibility that you may be running out of power. Do you have access to a powered USB hub that you can connect it to, just to rule out that possibility?

Test this Quadrant in Windows Game controllers (joy.cpl) or use VKB JoyTester that ready axis more precisely, for buttons use VKB ButtonTester.

BTW - Have you checked if some of game "aids" - engine automation, are not on?

An internal inspection may reveal pitched or stressed wire, that can having intermittently contact.

Thank you both for the tips.

Sokol1, how can I test the quadrant in VKB JoyTester. I'm using a VKB KGii joy stick so I'm somewhat familiar with the tester but when I open it I don't see the quadrant. Only the joystick.
