Anyone know or even hazard a guess when Steam will have BoN?

I don't trust other content providers. Been stung a couple of times.

Well you have two options. Buy it from the il2sturmovik.com store or from Steam. I'd say the il2 store is pretty trustworthy :)

It won't show on Steam until release.

No idea, but if you buy from IL2 and they go under you will be out the cash; if you buy from STEAM and IL2 goes under you will be out the cash or if STEAM goes under you'll be out the cash.

Buying from STEAM doubles your risk. Safest logical bet is to buy direct.

The payment service when buying direct won't give me any payment options, so I'm also stuck with steam. The customer service on the payment service didn't exactly inspire  onfidence either.

If Steam goes down you'll still have il2 account with all purchases/keys/modules that you bought either from steam or il2 since accounts are linked.

I would rather say Steam is additional place from where you can download game so it's more like backup rather than risk!

You're saying that if I pay STEAM for a copy of the game and STEAM goes out of business that the Devs will give me a copy of the game? Maybe they would if they received the money and had confirmation, but maybe they wouldn't depending on the agreement with Steam and the information shared between the two.. It's certainly added risk, even if not much added risk.

That doesn't hold water at all!

You bought it from 1C trough Steam.....you agreed to 1C EULA, you have accounts linked, daily online verification and purchase, majority of purchase money goes to 1C so yes there shouldn't be any risk....zero risk and backup if il2 goes down so you can download it from steam servers .

Same as any other product manufacturer/retailer!

But with software in todays age it is completely irrelevant, software (game) will become obsolete by the time it happens, and if it happens developer usually provide final version link support or such so ppl afraid of that shouldn't worry at all.

But yeah, buy from 1C so all money goes to devs and future game development!
