Barn-Owl Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Hi folks. Trying to get this game up and running and need help with getting the game sound on when in VR. I have an Oculus Rift CV1 and use its microphone and ear speakers for other games. I have selected this to be my input and output sources for audio, both in Win10 and in SteamVR settings, yet I still do not have sound in the game when playing in VR. Am I missing something here? Is there sound selection within Il-2 itself? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks <salute>!
firdimigdi Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Unless you've accidentally turned off the volume in the Oculus software I can't think of anything else. One way to simplify things (and speed them up too) is to switch to OpenComposite ( https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR ), highly recommended.

Hi Firdimigdi: I am using the VR 6'oclock view modification (with Driver4vr and JoyToKey) and my understanding is that if I go with OpenComposite, the modification will not work. If, as you are saying, I accidentally turned off the volume in the Oculus Software, then why would I still be able to hear volume in other games (I also play Aces High)? I feel like there maybe still a disconnect between how I have the settings configured between SteamVr and Windows 10. There is no sound configuration in IL-2 itself, correct (other than the volume and what kind of music plays where)? If you have screen shots of your windows10, steamVr setup, I would greatly appreciate it! <salute>
Barn-Owl Posted December 13, 2020 Author Posted December 13, 2020 Edit: Got it figured out--it was my setting in steam that were off. I now full sounds, <S> Firdimigdi ?
