Even after 6+ years, this game's visual beauty surprised me

Built a new, rather indulgent "quarantine PC" with specs sufficient to run IL-2 in 4k at 144FPS+ with max settings, including HDR. Did some quick missions over Cambrai at sunrise, and was blown away at the visual experience.

 

I've been invested in IL-2 BoS since the beginning, and was a big supporter of RoF before that. I just want to give some kudos to the team for the great work. Even after hundreds/thousands of hours with the Digital Nature engine in its various iterations, it can still take my breath away, even today.

I'll second that. There's times where I think I take it for granted and then it spits out this incredibly beautiful scene and I have to take a metaphorical step back and just marvel in awe at how good it all looks and how well it runs.

It gets better and better because it's continually being worked on....it's always a "work in progress", with emphasis on the last word in that phrase....it makes progress ....so long as there is enough quality product to invite enough people to continue buying the products.
