Are careers contiguous?

If player owns BOM and BOS and finish career in BOM, is his pilot transitioned to another career in BOS?
I never had a chance to check it, because I'm playing careers in IronMan mode and never finished it in BOM.

Yes. 

 

But if you are playing iron man and you fly like me then it is a moot point - you may as well give away everything past Moscow

You can transition from Battle of Moscow all the way to Battle of Bodenplatte if you fly Axis. If you fly Allied, you can transition from Moscow all the way up to Kuban.

If you start as Allied but part way decide to identify as Axis can you then transition to Bodenplatte?

Conversely, If you fly Italian, can you do the opposite ?
