CLoD- Blitz- can't change planes

Single missions and quick missions I see a player plane option but can't select other airplanes. Can't even select what side I might want to fight for.

 

What am I missing?

For aircraft selection: double click. To choose side: click on the pilot

This option work for Quick Mission, not for Single Mission.

I just tried a "Single Mission" I had saved. If I check the "Custom" tab I can change my pilot's side and aircraft type.

Yes, but you are limited to choose the planes included in the Single Mission, not any plane like in Quick Mission.

Well, I have an edited single mission in my "Missions" folder flying a spitfire vs a 109 E-1. I was able to switch to German side under the "Custom" tab and chose to fly a Ju-88 with two Ju-88 wingie's. I just now tried it. Could be that  it was originally a Quick Mission that I edited and saved in the single missions folder but it uses the Winter map so I might have done it from scratch in the FMB.
