jcole Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 All - Again, thanks for your inputs and suggestions. Just to be clear, while I value all your inputs and recommendations, the final decisions for my actions are mine. I’m old enough in time and grade to be responsible for what I do. I also feel confident enough to get into the computer to remove and replace the RAM sticks. And I even have a grounding strap ;). I would still value your all’s opinion as to the quality and value of the Crucial Ballistix 16GB (8GBx2) RAM sticks. The price on Amazon has increased to almost $90.00 but now it’s offered at 3600mhz vice the original 3200. Still 16 GB. 2
zzzxxxxzzz Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 These are good ($74.99): https://www.amazon.com/XPG-3200MHz-288-Pin-CL16-20-20-AX4U320038G16A-DRZ1/dp/B0828C3DJB For the test suggested by DD_FT- 4Gb are enough 1

Under the HP Analytics heading there were eight "!Error" indications, the most recent being 2/2/21. I had many program crashes since 2 Feb, with Missions that I successfully flew just minutes before, so I'm not sure what these indicate. There were no other Error indications in the other categories. All the errors are HPTACClient as the source. The details are copied below. Sorry but this data means nothing to me, hopefully it does to you all. Thanks PS: It looks like you are running Microsoft Net Framework 4.0 Please update... 4.8 should be the latest. CORRECTION... you are running 4.8 already... but the error does relate to MS Net Framework. Maybe re-install? Also check to see if you are running the latest driver for your video card. ---- Regarding the RAM: First of all: I am not promising all your problems will be solved by upgrading the RAM. I don't know what the issue with your PC is... it could be any number of issues... 3rd party software causing problems, the RAM mis-match, or something else. However, that aside, upgrading your RAM should help with your PC's general performance... for both BLITZ/TOBRUK and all other games. Typically 16 gb is the minimum for most gaming PC's nowadays. Basically there are three options for you: 1) Cheapest: Remove the 4 gb 3200 mhz RAM stick and replace it with a single 8 gb 2666 mhz RAM stick... single sticks should still be available. This way you have two matched 8 gb 2666 mhz sticks for a total of 16 gb. Negative: The 2666 mhz sticks are old tech and will not perform as well as a 3200 mhz type. Waste of the 4 gb 3200 mhz stick. (unless you can sell it on Craigslist or somewhere else) 2) Remove both the 4 gb 3200 mhz and the 8 gb 2666 mhz sticks and replace them with two 8 gb 3200 mhz sticks. You then have 16 gb of 3200 mhz RAM, and performance should be upgraded. Negative: waste of your two original RAM sticks. (unless you can sell them on Craigslist or somewhere else) 3) Remove both the 4 gb 3200 mhz and the 8 gb 2666 mhz sticks and replace them with two 16 gb 3200 mhz sticks. You then have 32 gb of 3200 mhz RAM, and performance should be significantly upgraded. 32 gb is very common now for PC's. This option would be optimal for performance, you pay less per gb of memory than you would with a 16 gb purchase. Negative: Quite expensive... and again, your PC is not top of the line so do you need this? And waste of your two original RAM sticks. (unless you can sell them on Craigslist or somewhere else) Regarding the make of the RAM... I build my own computers and usually go with Corsair RAM sticks... but your choice... would recommend you look at consumer ratings. 1

All my drivers and video card are up to date. I’ll check the MS Net Framework and re-install if needed. Thanks again 1
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted February 13, 2021 Team Fusion Posted February 13, 2021 Hello jcole I got this reply from my coders in regards to your post: this crash is from an analytics software from HP, not the game. Doesn't seem directly related to game crashes. In this case the the crash is produced trying to insert an invalid value into a dictionary, there is no context about what is producing the crash. Could you ask the client to send us a copy of the event log and the content of the crash dumps folder? Here is what you need to do: Go to: "Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/" Inside is a file called "cppcrash". Delete the contents of the file. Then run the game 3-4 times till you have several crashes. Copy the cppcrash folder. The make a copy of the logfile for the same crashes. (logfile as described earlier in this thread... in the same Documents folder) Then contact me by private message on this forum and I will send you an email where you can send these files for analysis. Thanks ? 2 1
jcole Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Ok, will run the files and PM you soonest. Thanks
