WW1 British flag?

I'm a new player to IL★2 Sturmovik. I've very recently purchased the Battle of Stalingrad and Flying Circus Vol. 1. I've created a single player mission just to allow me to get used to flying the British WW1 aircraft. No dogfighting or anything, just taxiing, taking off and landing. The basics. One thing that's bugging me however, is that on the airfield I've placed a flag by the side of the aircraft tents and I set it to WW1 Great Britain, but when I'm in the game it's displaying what I believe is the red old Russian flag. I must be doing something wrong with the settings, but I cannot think what, so any advice would be very welcome, thanks.

Same in WW II. The only Allied flag is Soviet, no mater which country you pick.  This goes back to the origin of the game. Surprised it has never been updated.

Thanks. Could you get around it by renaming the picture file?

Hi Grinnygog,

Its not renaming the file that is required, rather an edit of the flag texture to place the British flag over the top of the soviet one. You would need to open the flagskin.dds file in a picture editing software package, make your change and then resave as a dds file and place the updated textures in game. there two textures that need editing.

But to save you the trouble please find attached is a small mod of the flag, which places British Union Jack on the allied flag.

Its in jsgme format, place the unzipped "CW_British_Flag"folder into your mods folder and install with jsgme.
