visibility and spotting problems

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I found visibility very frustrating sometimes, I read quite a few posts and followed the instructions to get setting for improved the spotting.

The biggest problem is that sometimes contacts against the ground magically disappear while they change aspect even at medium range. They are clearly visible, then they totally fade and then they are visible again, but if in the moment you can't see them they turn in a way you don't expect you lose them.

I noticed that this happens mostly on summer map with dark green colours.

Does anyone have an advice on how to improve visibility?

I have noticed this too. On Stalingrad summer especially, midday hours.

2 things that will help. 1 is turning up shadow quality -- though this will decrease framerate. Shadows are easy to spot in situations where planes are not.
Number 2 is to try and fiddle with HDR on/off and also try setting your graphics to "low". There is a difference in the HDR algorithm between the "low" preset and the others - you may have more luck with on option or another.

I made some gfys to compare settings, but you can see the issue most clearly at 10.23 seconds in this:

The plane is unusually "grey" in both non-hdr and in HDR. A small change in wing angle and within milliseconds the plane is extremely well contrasted.

This shift looks unusual, and I have not figured out what the cause is.

EDIT:
Unusually grey:
