Headsets

I use a Plantronics Gamecom 1which is plugged into a Plantronics switch on my desk. Switch one way, headset and mic work, other way speakers work. The headset which I have had for years is becoming unreliable. I got another,  OneOdio, the mic didn't work so Amazon took it back. Looking at another to plug into Plantronics switch. The switch will work with other brands wont it? The desk top speakers it switches to are Sony so cant see any probs. Considering Steel Series Arctis 3 if anyone has any experience and would like to comment that would be helpful.
