Hello everyone. I'm thinking of buying a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB to install BOS in there. The question is, should I uninstall the game and reinstall it in the new drive, or can I move it from one drive to another? If so, how can I do it? Thanks a lot in advance.

I swapped drives a couple of months ago. Just copied and pasted from one to the other then updated any shortcuts. It shouldn't cause you any bother at all.

For just the game might be a good idea, but 1TB gave me the chance of installing my boot partition too, and (in a different folder) other large programs like Photoshop, a Train sim,  and another GB backup.

I bought a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 1TB. was recommended as being faster, but i had a slot on my motherboard. Careful how you mount it, it needs proper cooling.

Youcan move the game there, or reinstall it new, and copy-overwrite your old user data (missions, skins, campaigns and info folders)

Thanks to you both for your kind answers. I'll copy and paste it from one drive to another. If something is wrong, I'll reinstall it. I want this drive just for the sim (with every update it has more and more gygabites, so I can't imagine in a couple of years ;)

If you have the install through Steam, the Steam client has a function that you can use to move a game from one drive to another.

No, I don't have it installed through Steam.

When you have your new drive. Make an empty GB folder and run the installer from there. Then you'll have a fresh install.

You can copy-overwrite all your stuff in there fom the old installation. TeraCopy is a nice tool for that, has a verify function.

If your internet is slow: Just copy the whole caboose over. Rename the old installation folder after that.

If you start the game by it's icon it will say that it cannot find the game. In properties (right click on the short cut) there are two pointers you have to re-address.

PS With SSD it's a wise thing to activate over-provisioning, a function you can set f.i. via Samsung Magician software.

It costs you about 10% harddisk space, but increases durability as in life span i was told.
