Il2 Merchandise

I don't know if this has been previously addressed, but here goes...

I know other development/ publishing groups/ forums sell their own merchandise. The developers always trying to raise revenues by selling early access, so I thought this could be a nice way to raise revenue without being dependent on sales of game modules. I know there are third party groups that make it relatively easy and painless to set up (no personal experience, just heard it from others that do). The design ideas can come from the community and thus the developer's would very little to do.

Just a thought... I am not an expert.

Ew, wow, with that response,... we don't appear to be very nice to Jason and developers. (Yes, I have read the posts from the self-entitled jerks, just didn't think it was that bad).

I think things have improved quite a bit since 2014. There are still a few jerks about, but nothing like the loons Jason had to put up with then.

I can't see Jason changing his mind on 'trinkets' though - he's said before in response to other fund-raising proposals that 1C/777 make money by selling the game, and that the best way to increase revenue is to sell more, or words to that effect. If you want to help out, buy content, and gift it to someone who might then be interested in buying more.

It's a nice idea but if you think of the practicalities - we're talking a Russian company based in Moscow,  expert in digital distribution with an American producer based in Nevada - and try and bolt on an online clothing shop......

These things only work on a commercial basis if you're confident of orders in their thousands.

'Fact is, these days it's not at all difficult to have your own personalised T-shirts and Hoodies made to order by specialist companies that offer one-offs.
