I get this in game

But game splashscreens look like this:

Where is all that lovely ground detail? All game settings are on highest.

Thanks

How did you "reset" the conf.ini?  Just delete it and let it be re-created?

I’d be interested in what changes need to be done to get the higher resolution textures. From the in-game menu options it sort of always looks like the first picture.

I’ll play with the settings in conf.ini.

Donik, yeah, I suppose so.

So we are supposed to save the conf.ini somewhere just in case and then simply delete it in the game folder and in the restart it will be recreated by itself?

I just deleted the conf.ini file...the game recreate it with new settings

And better texture?

I think my conf.ini got corrupted, I thought the texture settings were on 'original' and ground shadows on 'high' but they weren't. That is what made the difference to the textures.

I deleted the conf.ini, let the game rebuild it then went in and put all the visual settings to max.

I just installed Tobruk last night, along with 3 other BlitzPigs, and came here looking for ideas on this issue as well.

Glad that what I'm seeing now in the game is not what it should look like.

Will try deleting the conf.ini and see what happens.  Will this make the airfields more visible?  Right now it is virtually impossible to distinguish them from the surrounding terrain.

Still struggling with the clunky/perplexing key assignments, been a long time since I last flew CLOD,

but that's for another thread.

My assumption has been that the splash screens are artists' interpretations of a scene rather than actual in-game snapshots. Am I mistaken in that assumption?

That's been my experience also, thus far. Would be more than happy to be proven wrong.

Well I deleted the conf.ini, and nothing changed.  Verified files in steam, no change.  Reset all my graphic settings, no change.  In textures I tried going from "original" to "high", no change, is there any difference between original and high?

It's kind of a let down actually.

I may well be wrong but from what I've learned from other older threads, original is the highest setting for textures.

"In descending order:

Original > Original "High" setting from release version

High > New post release setting, is "Original" "tuned down" 2x by Luthier's despaired patches for increased the (very) poor FPS of release version"
