DrMarmot Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 So ever since i bought the game a few days ago ive been suffering frequent DXGI crashes, ive updated and reverted my GPU drivers, and ive also reinstalled them, but no cigar. Ive tried every fix under the sun, from TdrLevel to TdrDelay, the problem didnt go away, instead of crashing the game just makes my PC unresponsive completely. This is beyond annoying and im considering to refund the game at this point. I dont even get any reports, the only error i get is the standard DXGI error
WWDarkdiz Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Does it occur when you try and start a mission? Occasionally, I get nothing but a black screen, a few tech icons on the right, sound, but nothing else. I alt-f4 out, PC remains responsive at that point, allows me to reboot. Generally that seems ot work, but it's still an annoyance nonetheless.

Nope, it happens every few hours, today i managed to do a full sortie with my friend, but in the middle of the cruise my game just freezes. And i cant tab out or alt f4. After a few seconds (10-15) the sound stops too. I did a complete driver reinstall today but it fixed nothing. Im gonna try to run it in windowed mode next time to see what happens in the task manager. I even thought it was my monitor so i turned it off and on and it fixed nothing
WWDarkdiz Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Hmmm. Sounds like some sort of driver issue, or maybe a background program causing a conflict somewhere. I wish you good luck in fixing it, this is a really good sim when it works, but needs a lot of TLC so it does run properly. What graphics are you running? NVidia has tons of settings you can mess with

NVidia has tons of settings you can mess with Suprsingly im on a GT730, i planned on changing it this winter... As said the game runs on 60 FPS normally, i heard of a few possible fixes today so as long as i keep finding possible fixes i will keep playing. Aparently running the game from the exe will prevent steam overlay from starting, and i need to update my PCI bridge drivers which im not looking forward to. If nothing else works i suppose getting a new gpu will, i wouldve gotten it anyways so it might as well work Also the whole pc is fully responsive. My friend who was my gunner today was guiding me to avoid hitting the ground (although not that well) and i had full control over the aircraft, alongside the PC itself
WWDarkdiz Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Mine is a GTX460m, quite old, but still works, albeit on VERY low settings. I've spent a LOT of time tweaking stuff in order to get a frame per second here and there, best I have seen is around 32-33, which is playable
DrMarmot Posted November 30, 2020 Author Posted November 30, 2020 If getting rid of overlay doesnt work i really have no other options to wait for my new GPU to arrive and hope that it hopefully fixes the issue, i will also pull my GPU and ram out to clean them a bit because it might just be causing some stuff to go bad
