Really depends on your preferences!

If image quality over FoV than G2, if otherwise than pimax.

For me image quality is main priority (clarity, no SDE, resolution) so G2 is my choice.

5K+ is a gamble. There are some very few very good units, but others have misaligned lenses, screens, old serial numbers (pre-204), etc.

 

I wouldn't recommend Pimax currently anymore, because you don't know what you'll get. A working headset or a hackjob in which you have no 3D presence and eye-strain. And then no support for these issues: only a dead pixel or broken lens or cracked case would get you an RMA.

 

Better go with HP/Valve's G2.
