Objective:

When the factory is bombed, I want the building destroyed and catch fire and for both effects to last until the mission is over.

 

Everything works except for at mission start, the factory is already on fire and there is a slight delay b/w with the timing of the smoke and fire stopping and starting.

 

Can someone take a look at this paired down version please?

You need to deactivate the city fire effect at mission start. See the Effect Sustainer topic on pg. 290 of the manual, which includes a description of the MCUs that handle city fire effects (i.e., Begin, T1, Out D1, and Out A1).

Damn, idiot proof, but not enough.... I should be dumber than that.

maybe because I have to understand the translation and the logic....

You don't need to understand the logic. Just follow the instructions under "Input", "Output", and "Usage Notes".
