A time penalty of 19hr 32 mins?

Seems a bit harsh when there are 7 a side?....I know I'm a noob and just learning and probably get on peoples nerves by not doing things correctly but I'm not feeling very welcome.

I'm assuming this is on Tactical Air War? TAW has a 'life limit' of 3 pilot lives. If you die 3 times in the same map rotation, you run out, and you have to wait 20 hours before you get 1 life back. It's nothing against you, it's a rule for everybody - they want to encourage people to fly smart and not go on suicide missions. You could still fly on TAW if your side is outnumbered too, even if you have no lives, to try and deal with balance issues.

Most of the servers only dole out bans for breaking the server rules, and unless its a repeated violation the bans are pretty gentle. Make sure you read the rules of the server you're flying on, some of them are quite different. Combat Box, for example, has protected airfields where you aren't allowed to shoot people, while Finnish Virtual PIlots allows 'vulching' and killing players on the ground.

Yes, they have SRS enabled. I think a lot of people still use the TeamSpeak instead though. Haven't flown alot on TAW recently.

Wait until the moment your team is outnumbered. If 10 minutes are passed since the start of the map, you can fly again. Since you were flying red, you should get a lot of opportunities to fly.

Thanks....I probably did die 3 times on the current map so that would make sense.
