migmadmarine Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Hey pat, would it be possible to make an option for co-op where it keeps track of how many times a pilot has been killed (or ought to have been killed/captured)? Currently, if we are playing full death, the host must create a new pilot each time someone is killed, which can be a pain for them, but it would be nice to keep track of the number of times someone ought to have died if playing with fatalities turned off.
PatrickAWlson Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 It's possible, but I would need a better idea of where you wanted to go with this. I can add a parameter to a record and increment it when I see a death in the logs, but then what? Having a number buried in the campaign's JSON files isn't doing much for you.
migmadmarine Posted November 17, 2020 Author Posted November 17, 2020 I think the implimentation I'd like to see would be to have a death/capture category on the pilot board along side kills and missions flown (though I can understand why some playing in more hardcore ways might be bothered by having this in the main screen UI), or alternatively have a thing on the front page of the pilot journal that would track number of deaths/captures. Basically, what I'd like to see is a place to look in the UI to be able to easily work out someone's kill/death ratio, if we are not going through the steps of creating a new pilot each time someone is killed. Another alternative would be to have an option to re-set someones kill and flight count when their pilot survives being "killed", so that the campaign host doesn't have to generate a new pilot for them to continue on the next flight.
