Smoke of destroyed buildings

Is there a way to change the height of the greyish/white smoke that appears after a building is destoryed. I dont mean the static some/fire effects.

I played around with the "building_smoke.txt" file in graphics/effects/surf folder an there are some (strange) changes visible if i change some parameters.

But i cant let the smoke rise higher. Has anyone an idea? Is it in one of the encrypted files and not changeable?
