HarroG Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Hi all, I trying to configure my head tracking in opentrack. The head movement (lean front back, left right) seems very limited. Especially compared to the Great Battles series. I want to lean into my gunsight like you would in real life. I know that for the 109's there is a button for leaning into gunsight, but I really don't like how that works. In short I would like Cliffs of Dover to feel like BoX. Am I missing something? Excuse me if there already is a topic like this, I couldn't find it. Cheers,
Sokol1 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Quote In short I would like Cliffs of Dover to feel like BoX No way, is how CloD was made, thus Bo'x is Bo'x, CloD... "It's CLoD!"? IMO - In Bo'X head movement is a bit exaggerated, like if pilot has a Giraffe neck,* e.g. in VR you can look inside the fuselage, behind pilot seat. * Not like in early access, when the pilot can... sit over the wing. 1
9./JG52_J-HAT Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 I personally don’t see much difference between the two. Maybe because I configured BoS to be more like CloD for me (speed, inertia and smoothness sliders to the fastest possible)? The space in the cockpit doesn’t seem to me as too different either. I use all 6 axis in TIR and move my head to align with the gunsight and get closer to it. I rarely use full zoom (30 degree FOV). My movements in TIR are extremely augmented (30x iirc) so that a slight movement of my head in any direction will move a lot in game. Except around the initial position so I can breathe and move my head slightly and don’t need s neck and back stiffener in order to play.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 The Great Battles series really exagerates the freedom of movement of the TrackIR view. Movement inside a WWII fighter aircraft was very limited and the TrackIR view limits in the Dover series seem to me to be very realistic. Please leave them as they are.
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 @HarroG I creare a OpenTrack profile with the head already aligned with the Revi... I found this was the best solution for me
vonGraf Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I've tried to limit my view in TrackIR, especially no view on your headrest like an owl and the last degrees between 110 - 140 to each side are set to a slower movement. But I've learnt it didn't work in every simulator and plane as expected. In the IL-2 series I like the CloD head movement most but after I disabled the 'headshaking' first.
