Has the AI stopped being aggressive?

I just flew Quick Mission against random Tempests.  All three blacked out and flew straight into the ground.  I didn't have to fire a shot.  This happens a lot in career mode as well.

I've also seen planes I was chasing start firing at no targets in front of them...

The AI needs work.

I have more cases of AI flights crashing into the ground in every SP mission since the update.

Yesterday in several missions two times 6 x Pe-2 and 4 x Ju-88 always all together/simultaneously. Today some Stukas and the usual 2 - 3 fighters.

Didn't happen in my field of view, so I couldn't watch the circumstances. I read it in the after battle logbook.

No, I don't have tracks or videos.

Yes, tracks and videos would help us a lot.

I noticed if the AI has an "attack enemy column" assigned to Hurricanes, they do not take bombs, and only use 303.

The AI shoot from 100's of meters out with the machine guns and hit nothing then RTB when out of ammo.

Scratch that, I checked the tac view and they do score hits but do fire a long way away, but look like they have the convergence set for it.

Hi

Something I noticed playing the other day, AI only reacting to enemy when they actually started getting shot at.

And a Bomber formation endlessly flying in circles for the entirety of the mission.

I only started the record as the planes were getting close and I noticed my wingmen not engaging. If you go from my planes POV (Retrofly) you will see them and the circling Bombers. This was a Moscow career mission flaying one of the Hurricanes.

maybe its a sign the AI pilots are getting some smarts to them?

Maybe when your wingmen hold back and let you deal with three enemy fighters at one time its a case of "well let the new guy get killed/shot down. Way to cold to walk back to germany from Russia.."

Ehm...no.

The number of times my Flight gets 50% (or more) losses from flying into the ground or each other is really keeping this game from being enjoyable.  Is there some way of fixing this through the game settings?

Sorry to revive a possibly dead thread, but I've come across the opposite. I have flown three sorties in my current Spitfire campaign after some hiatus. Of those three, I have been shot down twice, not by the enemy, but overly aggressive friendly AI shooting at a bandit while I'm in close with it. The same AI plane then goes and robs me of the kill. The third sortie had no bandits. If I regularly shot down friendlies I'd be court martialed. At the very least I'm sure this has started at least two fights in the squadron bar.
