Hi guys,

 

how are the loading times for you guys when using PWCG? We've tried using it for a coop campaign, but we're a bit discouraged at how long it takes to setup the server and load the game.

 

My friend is using a separate server to host. Should he use his own computer?

Not sure if coop is different as I play SP, but I don't know why it should be.  If you create a binary from PWCG (about 2 minutes) the load time is greatly reduced (also about 2 minutes).  If you do not and just write the file (about 2 seconds) then mission load time in game is longer (about 5 minutes).  It is honestly a wash but I prefer to let PWCG generate the binary rather than wait much linger with a blinking VR headset on my head.  I am loading on a pretty decent computer from a SSD.

 

One major aspect of load time is all of the ground units and structures.  They can be removed, but then you have no ground units and structures.

 

I have no information on the difference between loading on a server vs loading on you local.    Hopefully some other coop players can chime in.
