IL2 freezes in VR.

Hi,

Once in flight my image freezes. I hear all the sounds, engine, voice etc... If I don't leave I hear my plane crashing. To leave I have to do Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

Sometimes it freezes at the beginning of the flight. Other times after a few minutes. Sometimes I manage to complete the mission without any problem.

The graphic card pilot is up to date.
I use a Pimax 8KX. PiTool 264

Someone would have a solution. Sorry for my English, I use a translator.

That's usually the GPU crapping out. Drop the overclock on it a tad, even if it's factory set and make sure it's getting enough juice from your PSU.

My card is a Rog Strix Gaming OC Edition, 11 GB

I didn't overclock anything. I left the default values. I have 3 modes: OC, Gaming and Silent. By default the card is in Gaming Mode, I will try the Silent mode. This reduces the frequency by 15 Mhz.

I have no problem with my other games.
My power supply is an 860 W.

Based on my experience there is two kind of chrashes:

 

1- Sound and game continue but image freezes: This is GPU related. OC not stable or limited peak amperage to GPU.

2- Game stop, image freeze but VR view or track IR might still work. This is CPU instability. (OC not stable).

 

For the first cause you should double check that you used the two cables to feed your 2080Ti and also that your PSU has more than 70 Amps. (860W is not a warranty).

Hi Chiliwili69,

I have 71.6 amps on the power supply.
My card is powered by two cables.

My problem is like cause 1. I adjusted the OC of the card to Silent Mode. I made a flight and the image didn't freeze.
I'll check for future flights.

Did you use FFR, if he is turned to cause random freezes

I have also the problem the game can freezing - not often  , but I guess it's course of many ppl on server 

I have really good connection to house 500/500 - but the server Flying Circus  is in canada ( as I know ) and I live in Denmark -  my packet is checked and ok , so I'm very open for trying things ??

pimax can't use FFR in IL2

if you use it

you game will be crash

I haven't had time to try it without the FFR.
