How do I skip to the next "event" in Career Mode Sorties

Brand new to IL-2, I know how to accelerate time by up to 8x but there is still a LOT of stooging around in career mode sorties.  I thought there was a way to skip to the next waypoint or "event".

 

Am I missing something?
