How can you get ships to attack other ships, destroy some and sail on.

Been trying AttackArea (probably not working for ships as i read in the manual somewhere),

and then Attack commands (with a counter set to trigger a Force Complete for the exit via waypoints).

The attacker torpedo boats always stop at the last waypoint before the target linked attack command .. what's needed to keep them moving?

The IL2 player plane is set just to see what's going on. Boat action is grouped BTW. Thanks for looking ...

PS there are some other errors in this tester, but the boogiemen get blown up alright ...

They will attack each other automatically so long as they are in range, no attack logic needed. Make sure waypoints are set to “Low”

Other than moving the ships closer, as Gambit implies, try linking the attack command to the German ship leader only (with the ships at the current range) and see if that works. You also select the "Attack Group" option, so that all objects in the formation are attacked.

Thanks for the tips, never thought they would attack automatically without logic. Like our recently deceased very friendly Bulterrier and any cat on her route, no logic ....

Jim: Leaving the Attack command active (group option, targeting the leader ship) still makes the attackers stop at the last waypoint set at the attackers route.

Besides the attackers then only attack the targeted ship ..

PS can you set any logic so that they chase around the targets for some time until a (counter counts decided) number of kills, before moving on?

If i set the destroyer's waypoints to low, it kills any toprpedoboat attacker ... not fair.

PS2 can you use a MCU formation command (not for ships?) to keep a target linked set of ships from colliding with one another?

It seems that setting each ship in a group having it's own waypointed route is the only solution avoiding such collisions ...

ADDED: Indeed i think now any attack command does not work for ships .....

and for torpedoboats, they seem to sail partly submerged at one height level, and do not obey to the waves, a bit unnatural.

ADDED2: found out that with more than 2 fast ships like torpedo boats, 2 target linked together works best regarding collisions, having their own waypoinst per 2 linked together. I'll post an updated tester mission later ... removed the counter logic too. A promising Wild West Show it seems now.
