Dear Devs,

The La.5's "Spanish" skin is a little wrong

RevoluTion is English

RevoluCión is in Spanish ;)

Viva la Revolution... is SpanGlish

just a minor complaint but ive always wondered how many spanish speaking people have seen this and laughed XD

I'm sure that the artists can correct this in two minutes when they have the time of course  :salute:

The skin has another questionable mistake which is the literal transaltion from the CCCP initials (URSS in spanish, not SSSR)

However I think that the problem does not come from the BoS skinner but from the sources in which he based it. Try to search profiles from Vicente Beltrán and his La-5 on the internet. You'll see so many different profiles...

What it would be best of course would be a photograph of it, which I have never been able to find.

Should you find one please let us know.

This is an interesting one... There are cases where the sides of aircraft have inscriptions that were not written accurately. Sometimes with spelling mistakes and the like. Is it possible that this is one of those cases?

Yeah SSSR makes no sense, it's URSS in spanish. Like you said, the question is whether the real skin also had the mistake.

yes i also thought of talking about USSR as well but then i googled it  and it does mean the same but in a different language so that i think its ok but revoluTion its a little cringey to me, but if its historically accurate than just let it be and ill cal it an easter-egg! :D

History is quirky like that :)

I tried doing a bit of a dive into Google image search for a while trying to find a photo of this plane but no luck. Just profiles and they repeat the same "mistake".

Funnily enough, on Wings Palette there is also a profile which has the inscription written in Spanish, but using Cyrillic instead of Latin letters to achieve the same pronunciation. I wonder if it has any merit, it's an interesting interpretation since it would allow the Russian-speaking regimental mates to say it properly.

This has been a very discussed topic on modelism:

It seems that all are variants of some artist's impression. Some profiles, choose the one you like the most

I just checked it out, there is a "Spanish" skin for the La-5 Series 8 with "Viva la revolution socialista en la SSSR", but it should read "Revolucion" in Spanish, with a C instead of a T. Not that it is game breaking nor anything, but i guessed it would be something relatively easy to fix.

@Batmack89, thank you, but the error means it was already in the original model that the skin was drawn from) we'll check the original source.
