DavePro Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Can someone get an axe and chop down that bloody tree on the northern threshold of Manston? Doing a lovely curved approach and suddenly it appears from under the engine and knocks half your wing off. Not really a bug, so I can't put it in Bugtracker, and removing a tree isn't really a feature. Maybe I'll just have to keep a better lookout. 3
DavePro Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 Therion, if we had Swiss markings for 109E's we could duplicate some of the 109 v 109 combats, particularly in mid 1940. None of the terrain on our maps looks a lot like Switzerland, but the winter map might provide some opportunities. An opportunity for Swiss Skinners? Combat would be very difficult if you had to actually identify markings before firing.

DavePro Posted November 11, 2020 Author Posted November 11, 2020 I just tried Like v Like combat with a bunch of D520's in Free French/Vichy colour schemes and markings, because the stripes on the Vichy aircraft should help. In one of my books a Martlet pilot at Oran talks about seeing 'yellow aircraft'. It's incredibly hard to get close enough to sort out markings, and of course if you're at his six you can't see a damn thing. You have to identify markings from a side view and then make sure that you keep eye contact with that aircraft while you get into a firing position.
