Try to specify how you want to play, as there are many play styles that include other people.

1. I want to be part of an organized squadron.  That means showing up to practice and participating in organized events.

2. I want somebody to fly with on multiplayer.  Much more casual.  Just get together, hop onto a server, and have some fun.

3. I want to play coop.  Here you are playing with a group of regulars flying coop missions or careers.  You can play on the same side or on different sides - so coop need not be all that cooperative  .  A bit more organized than hoping on MP but probably not quite as intense as online squadrons.  Can put you into the context of a historical career with others if that's what you want.

 

Those are three participatory play styles off the top of my head and they are all quite different.  Good luck hooking up

CombatBox's Discord has a 'looking for wingman' section, so you could try that if you are flying on CombatBox.

If you have a headset with a microphone, you should also download and install Il-2 SRS. When you get on the server, you can talk to everyone else on your side who has SRS active. So it is not too hard to coordinate sorties with whoever happens to be online.

Here's the link to getting SRS and setting it up. once it's set up properly it auto-connects to the multiplayer server to whichever side you join. You just open it before launching IL-2 and it will handle the rest.

mee too  !! i dont really want a squadron...just casual ...sometimes we meet sometimes we dont. I play on the Finnish Virtual server. Would that be cool ? Iam on discord too.
