1) In it's present state of engine modelling complexity, which aircraft should benefit from mixture adjustment with altitude, the effects being able to be followed using EGT, CHT or the tachometer ?

2) How would you recommend, leaning for any of the aircraft you cared to list for 1) ?

For sure FC Sopwith Camel benefis from mixture adjustment as seen in RPM. Yes I need to lean as altitude rises.  All ww1 with manual mixture do ,but ww2 seams only get into more stealth (less smoke behind) and preserving fuel mode. Optimal mixture is where exhaust flames are in between red/blue.
